Posted by Mr. Monday 大家都知道Google有Google Earth，但是用滑鼠操作3D總是不太順暢，於是Google推出了一個硬體，一款叫做SpaceNavigator的硬體，你可以用73塊美金在Google的商店裏面買到它。 老實說，這麼昂貴的東西…還是看看就好。

Posted by Mr. Saturday 看到這個消息，相信很多懷抱著矽谷創業夢的創業家們，心中既是振奮又是忌妒。Google花了大約兩倍於併購YouTube的錢：31.8億美金，在今天宣布正式併購DoubleClick這一家公司！以現在的匯率換算過來，大約是1049.4億台幣！好啦，那個「小小的零頭」49.4億台幣我們就別管它了(雖然這個零頭已經是無名小站被併購的七倍價錢)，姑且就稱這次併購為千億併購吧！

Google是否太過強大?

Posted by Mr. Saturday 最近看到了美國商業週刊的一篇報導Is Google Too Powerful?，是探討Google這家公司是否過於強大的文章，這實在是相當有趣，也驗證了history repeats itself這件事情在美國尤其正確。美國商業史上有相當多類似的情節不斷上演，單單就電腦界而言來說好了，80年代被質疑過於強大的公司是IBM，那個時候IBM因為幾乎壟斷main frame的市場，所以受到關注。90年代受到質疑是Microsoft，主要原因是因為霸占個人電腦作業系統，並且把瀏覽器bundle在Windows內悶死Netscape。現在網路時代來了，受到質疑的變成了Google，原因是因為Google漸漸地不再是一家單純做搜尋的公司，而是演變成一個龐大的企業怪獸，不斷侵吞廣告市場、出版業、媒體、軟體、硬體…所有你想像得到可以搬得到網路上的應用和領域。看來美國在每一個新的科技世代都會出現這樣一家這樣的公司，從main frame到desktop，現在到了網路時代，每個時代剛好都一個。
