千呼萬喚始出來：Chrome OS，瀏覽器即OS的世界？

今天早上不知道有多少人熬夜到凌晨兩點，為了看Google Chrome OS的發表會？這次的Chrome OS真的是千呼萬喚始出來，終於揭開面紗，不過內容也沒讓人失望就是了。

看完影片，有些亂糟糟的想法，暫時還很難整理成文字；不過這一天終於來臨了。根據我微薄且不甚可靠的記憶，當年微軟用盡各種招數，用IE硬把Netscape拉下馬，流傳的說法就是Bill Gates認為有一天瀏覽器的重要性會取代OS，怕到時候微軟沒戲唱，所以一定要捧自家的IE起來；而現在Google的Chrome OS推出了，加上Google背後強大的雲端運算服務與技術，瀏覽器即OS的這一天是否就要來到了呢？然後這種種再和行動運算Android平台結合起來…套一句Monday說過的話，Google每次推出的產品，初看都只是幾個零星各自的點，但是到中後期就會串成一個完整的面，Google這家公司真是越來越令人佩服了。

    It meets User Interface Rule #1 : make simple things simple.

    Now, the difficult part for it will be Rule #2 : make difficult things possible (and easier and faster …).

    If the current OS’s can have better sleep/wake-up mechanism, chrome’s strength may not be that big a deal. (Check ipod touch!)

    It is interesting indeed. The collision of Windows/Linux/Mac/iphone-itouch/PS3/X Box/PalmOS is spectacular.
