標題下的和某位網路專家一樣，很聳動。

如果說Google Wave是Collaboration Software，那不應該拿它和E-mail做比較。
E-mail充其量只能算是一合作工具而已。如同公司內也可以使用wiki做為溝通的工具，
但卻談不上是Collaboration Software。

從功能面來看，它試圖要解決的問題是什麼?
目前就像是把一些已存在的東西整合在一起而已，
從Demo中並看不出什麼新創意，更談不上是什麼殺手級應用。

或許，等更多的開發者使用它來建置應用程式，才能知道它的價值吧。

重點是溝通
他整合各種溝通工具在一起
感覺不是很創新他只是整合
還不算是殺手級

我預想中的網路殺手應用是把所有軟體服務都在雲端做
單機上面不需要使用者操作任何軟體
所以也就不用裝軟體
機器上面只要有瀏覽器跟輔助支援軟體全部都上網做
所以也不需要Windows了
只要瀏覽器跟底層系統即可

這才會是殺手級應用

我蠻期待的，不過我很懷疑這對普通人 – non-Silicon Valley, non-techie type people – 會有多大影響/實用性？現在小孩子都在用 facebook, myspace, 很少人真正在用 e-mail to begin with…所以他如果是要從 gmail user 開始 adopt, 我覺得會有很大的 network-switching barrier. This is part of the reason why I still use msn as my primary IM, despite how much I love google chat.

But Google Wave does have a lot to offer, and I think if eventually it becomes useful to ordinary people, sites like facebook and twitter will survive if they manage to adapt in time (or perhaps integrate with Wave, which I can easily see Twitter do) – after all, these sites do have a certain degree of stickiness, people have build online communities around these platforms, so to get them to completely abandon these sites will take some time/effort.

I disagree slightly with 昆蟲
I think we shouldn’t focus on developer now, consumer now holds a bigger power than developers. Look at facebook and IM softwares.

Hard to say, it may just be 15min of fun/fame

的確，Tim O’reilly談Google Wave的文章裡也提到了Groupware。
